I am a big fan of intermittent fasting because you can easily be in a caloric deficit and not feel hungry.  IF has been very popular in the past few years that even Hollywood stars such as Hugh Jackman, Terry Crews, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston and Beyonce have used it to get their killer hot body.

There are many different variations of feeding window you can choose such as 16 hour fast with 8 hours of feeding, 20 hour fast with 4 hour feeding or having just one meal a day. The most common and easiest from my experience is the 16 hour fast with 8 hours of feeding which consists of 2 full meals and a bunch of nutritious snacks in between.

I would like to share you my routine and experience with IF.  I used to skip breakfast and have my first meal at noon and have my final meal at 7PM at night.  This is a very common routine in the IF community.  I have since changed that because I work out early in the morning at 5:30AM and feel my body needs nutrients right after my workout so now I choose to feed between  7AM – 3PM.  This works out great for me as I go to bed by 8PM and do not feel hungry at all.  I just eat right after my workout in the mornings and my body and mind feels very satisfied with this routine so far.

The Benefits of My Routine

Working out after being fasted for 14 hours allows your body to tap into fat stores for energy.  Your body will also try to break down muscle for fuel as well but to try and counter this effect I drink pure BCAA with organic green tea.  The benefits of this concoction are muscle breakdown prevention, increase muscle building, faster muscle recovery, more energy, and increase antioxidants which will help your body fight harmful molecules called free radicals.
